 I Live in Jinyun

 Nicole (Australian)

Hi there!!  For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Nicole and I am one of two foreign teachers working at Jinyun Middle School.  I am from Australia and arrived in Jinyun approximately 6 months ago.  I have been very impressed with Jinyun Middle School in many aspects.  The teaching staff are hard-working and very dedicated to giving the students an excellent education that will no doubt serve them well in their later life.  If ever I need assistance, the teaching staff are always willing to help and I like to think that I too am helpful for them to have around  - especially when it comes to English questions!!  As for the students, they are always a pleasure to teach.  They are very warm and welcoming, and most importantly – eager to learn!!  As a foreign teacher, my teaching methods are somewhat different to what the students are used to, but I try to incorporate many games and other fun teaching aides into my classes so that the students enjoy my classes, and in doing so, learn to speak English well.  The students are very happy to be studying at JYMS as it is one of the foremost middle schools in Zhejiang Province and many of my students have traveled far from their hometowns in order to study here.  The facilities at the school are also excellent.  I like to make use of some of the many sporting facilities such as the running track, grass sports field, basketball courts and most importantly for me – the swimming pool!!  Coming from Australia where I used to swim every day, I was delighted to find out that the school has a swimming pool and I look forward to making use of it again when the weather is more suitable.  The surrounding township is also very lovely with many beautiful mountains surrounding Jinyun.  I have had a wonderful time in Jinyun during these past six months and am looking forward to the challenges and good times that lie ahead in the coming term.
